Matt LeBlanc has been spotted looking grave in a first sighting since the death of his on-screen best friend.

Chandler Bing actor Matthew Perry died on Saturday, October 28, aged 54.

It was reported he drowned at his Los Angeles hom, with initial autopsy reports indicating that his death was not caused by two dangerous drugs.

As tributes from fans and friends alike poured in, Perry’s former co-stars, Joey Tribbiani actor LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer, released a heartbreaking joint statement paying tribute to their ‘brother’.

While they have yet to share separate statements, revealing they will ‘say more in time’, LeBlanc has been seen for the first time since the tragic news.

The 56-year-old was pictured driving around, keeping a low profile with sunglasses and a dark cap.

LeBlanc was alone as he drove in his black Mercedes, looking downcast just a week after the news of Perry’s death.

LeBlanc and Perry played onscreen best friends for the ten seasons of the show, between 1994 and 2004, bringing us plenty of iconic moments together.

While they played best friends in the sitcom, Perry and LeBlanc also shared a bond outside of filming, the former Top Gear actor saying they were like brothers.

He told People in 2015: ‘Jen’s like my little sister, Courtney and Lisa are like my big brothers, but Jen’s like my little sister.

‘Matthew’s like my little brother and David’s like my big brother. That’s how it all broke down.’

The pair continued to support each other years after filming ended, with LeBlanc attending Perry’s London play, The End of Longing, in 2016.

‘Went to support my pal last night @MatthewPerry in The End of Longing. Great performances by the whole cast,’ he wrote on Twitter, sharing a snap of the pair together.

Following Perry’s death, his five co-stars paid tribute in an emotional statement, saying that they will ‘say more in time’.

‘We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,’ they said in the statement sent to People.

‘There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

‘In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.’

The outlet said that the message was signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer.

Several other actors who were in the Friends cast have paid tribute to Perry, including Maggie Wheeler, who played Chandler’s on-off-again girlfriend Janice Hosenstein.

‘What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared,’ she wrote.

Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Chandler’s mother Nora Bing, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my “son” Matthew Perry.

‘The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love and condolences to his friends and family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road and Falcon Crest.’

Friends is available to watch on Netflix.
