Mason Mount is ready to report for Chelsea training and make himself available for the club’s pre-season tour to America despite the possibility he could still move to Manchester United.
United have made three unsuccessful bids for Mount but the final offer – worth £55m – remains on the table.
Chelsea are holding out for £65m but there is a sense Manchester United have already made their best offer and will soon move to alternative targets unless the west Londoners budge.
Mount has so far been unwilling to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, leaving Chelsea with a dilemma as he could leave on a free transfer next summer.
It has also been reported that Mount has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United and is keen to secure a switch to Old Trafford as he feels it is time for a change.
But despite this, Mount is set to tell incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino that he will continue to give everything for the club while he is still contracted and is ready to go on the tour of the US ahead of the new season.
Former Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham and Southampton boss Pochettino officially takes over next week, having agreed a deal to become Chelsea’s sixth permanent manager in five years at the end of last season.

A number of Chelsea players have either left or are closing in on summer moves but the Daily Telegraph say Mount has not requested to leave despite not extending his contract.
Pochettino is said to admire Mount as a player and could attempt to convince the England midfielder to stay once he arrives in west London.
But Chelsea have already lost N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Arabia, with Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy set to sign similar deals.

Chelsea are also working on a number of incoming signings, having already agreed deals for Christopher Nkunku, Malo Gusto and – most recently – Nicolas Jackson.
Despite Chelsea’s owners spending more than £600m on transfers over the past 12 months, the Blues finished just 12th in the Premier League last season.
