Martin Lawrence has shared a brief update on Jamie Foxx’s health, after he was taken to hospital with a ‘medical complication’.

The Django Unchained actor sought treatment last week for an unexplained illness, and has been in hospital ever since.

Doctors are still thought to be carrying out tests on the 55-year-old to determine exactly led to his illness.

Martin joined those sending their well wishes to the star, sharing his hopes for a speedy recovery.

‘Well, I hear he’s doing better,’ the Bad Boys icon, 58, told Extra at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling on Thursday. ‘My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood.

‘Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person.’

Martin previously spoke out after news of Jamie’s hospitalization broke, sharing a throwback snap of the pair on social media.

‘My family and I are lifting you up in prayer. Much love and many blessings my brotha [sic],’ he said at the time.

LeBron James, Kerry Washington and Viola Davis were among the famous faces also rallying behind the Oscar-winner, while Sherri Shepherd posted a lengthy message, pleading with him to ‘come back even stronger’.

The Day Shift star’s family shared the news of his illness with fans on Thursday, with his daughter, Corinne, releasing a statement on her Instagram page.

‘We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,’ it read. ‘Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

‘We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.’

His loved ones have yet to share an update on his recovery, but a source claimed that his health had been in a ‘serious’ position, with his family traveling to be by his side.

According to TMZ, experts are in the dark about what caused his issues, and it is unclear when Jamie will be released from hospital, and when he can return to work.

He had been filming in Georgia for his upcoming Netflix action-comedy, Back In Action, beside Cameron Diaz, before his health scare.
