Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard kept their word at full-time of Man Utd’s Arsenal loss
Daily Mirror says Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard lived up to their pre-match promise after Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat by fellow Champions League chasers Arsenal on Saturday.
The Red Devils fell behind thanks to Nuno Tavares’ early opener before Bukayo Saka doubled Arsenal’s advantage from the penalty spot – his second goal in as many games. Although Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back for his 100th Premier League goal, Granit Xhaka sealed the win in the 70th minute as the Gunners moved six points clear of their rivals in the fight for a top-four place.
Despite falling to a second successive defeat, United duo Rashford and Lingard still kept to their word after the game having agreed to hand their match-worn shirts to a group of Arsenal’s Under-9s, according to Daily Mail journalist Adrian Kajumba.
