Map shows where temperatures will plummet across UK this weekend | UK News
Temperatures are continuing to drop across the country as many areas in the UK are still recovering from flash flooding.
This weekend is set to be one of the coldest in September, with London seeing lows of 6°C and Edinburgh seeing a frosty 3°C.
Much of the UK will be spared from rainfall until tomorrow, when a large system is moving across the British Isles.
But worry not – the clouds will clear on Saturday for a cold and sunny day, with lows of 4°C, so break out a jacket.
In Cumbria, temperatures will dip to near freezing, reaching temperatures of just 1°C in Kendal.
Belfast, Manchester and Bristol will all see lows of 5°C, with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle Upon Tyne seeing just 3°C.
Oli Claydon, spokesman for the Met Office, said that Tuesday is going to be much drier but there will be some rain in northern Scotland which will move south throughout the day
He said: ‘Through the week, temperatures will be feeling colder, temperatures in Scotland could stay in single figures.
‘We could see air frost overnight tonight in some rural areas of southern Scotland.’
The coldest temperatures will be seen on Saturday, however, as the entire UK will see low temperatures below 10°C.
