Manchester United target Kim Min-Jae accepts Bayern Munich offer but Napoli yet to agree deal

Bayern Munich have agreed personal terms with Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae, but are yet to meet the release clause in his contract with the Serie A champions.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with Kim this summer but it appears that Bayern are now in pole position to sign the South Korean centre-back.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that there has been ‘total verbal agreement’ between the Bundesliga club and the player on a five-year contract running till 2028.

However, Napoli do not want to accept anything less than the €50m (£43m) and Bayern are yet to offer that fee for the 26-year-old.

It is likely to only be a matter of time, though, with Sky Germany reporting that Bayern are prepared to meet Napoli’s demands for the defender.

Kim only signed for Napoli from Fenerbahce last summer, having spent just one campaign in Turkey before that and his previous experience coming in China and South Korea.

However, he has made rapid progress and was a key player as Napoli won Serie A and impressed in the Champions League over the last 12 months.

The South Korea international was one of Manchester United’s targets as they look for a new centre-back this summer, but their struggles in the transfer market continue.

The Red Devils are yet to make a significant signing so far this summer as they hunt for a new goalkeeper, central defender, midfielder, striker and possibly more.
