Manchester United managerial target Graham Potter was spotted at the Emirates on Saturday watching Arsenal take on Crystal Palace.
United have informally sounded out Potter with a view to the former Chelsea boss replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Potter is likely to take over from the Dutchman should a change be made, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe having already met with the Englishman to discuss the move.
Ten Hag is under increasing pressure amid a poor season – with United seventh in the Premier League and already out of Europe – while he has also faced criticism over his signings, style of football and treatment of certain players.
‘Am I being mischievous or is it often the case where managers out of work suddenly turn up at games where another manager is under pressure?’ Alan Shearer told the BBC about Potter being spotted at the Emirates.
‘But that’s football isn’t it? You have to win games or you will come under pressure.
‘And other managers will be linked left, right and centre. You have to get results or you know what happens.’

Potter has not managed a club since being sacked by Chelsea in April after less than a season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Ratcliffe has previously tried to bring in Potter at Nice with the 48-year-old waiting for a major job opportunity to come up having turned down the Sweden national team job.
It is thought that Potter would be interested in replacing Ten Hag should the opportunity become available.
