Manchester United have hatched a new plan to sell Dean Henderson after entering talks with fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace.
United goalkeeper Henderson was strongly linked with a move to Nottingham Forest but they have since brought in Matt Turner from Arsenal.
Henderson spent last season on loan at Forest and while the door remains open over a move to the City Ground, Palace have now entered the race to sign him.
The south Londoners want to secure a new goalkeeper this summer with Vicente Guaita thought to be keen on an exit from Selhurst Park.
The Daily Mail now report that Palace are in talks with United over a move for Henderson to potentially provide competition for Sam Johnstone.
United signed a new No.1 goalkeeper this summer as Andre Onana arrived from Inter Milan in a deal worth £47.2m.
Erik ten Hag has long wanted a more modern sweeper-keeper to help build-up play from the back and Onana was his ideal long-term replacement for David de Gea, who has since departed Old Trafford on a free transfer.

United currently have Henderson and Tom Heaton as back-ups to Onana, but they are keen to bring in a new No.2 themselves.
It was reported last month that the Red Devils are working on a deal to sign Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as one of three options to come in and serve as their second choice goalkeeper.
Henderson, 26, came through United’s academy and has made a total of 29 appearances for the club – spending most of his time as a Red Devil out on loan.
