A man has been charged after a spree of shootings at a newsagents, cinema and house in Liverpool.
The shootings happened during a two-hour period in the Croxteth and Norris Green areas of Liverpool on Wednesday night.
A man was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after a nine-hour search, with armed police called in and a major incident declared by Merseyside Police.
Leslie Garrett, 49, of Ternhall Road, Liverpool, has now been charged with one count of possession of a firearm to endanger life, two of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, one count of attempted robbery, and one charge of possession of ammunition without a certificate.
He’s set to appear at Liverpool magistrates court tomorrow.
The first shots were fired at the News and Booze corner shop, known locally as Sangha newsagents, at 8.30pm.

Around 20 minutes later staff at a Showcase Cinema on Stonedale retail park were threatened in the foyer before the gun was fired into the air.
Then, at around 10.20pm further gunshots were heard at a property on Malpas Road.

Nobody was injured during the shootings.
Assistant Chief Constable Jenn Wilson said it was the ‘first time we have had to deal with an incident of this nature on the streets of Merseyside.’
