Man arrested for allegedly helping Abdul Shokoor Ezedi
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail under suspicion of aiding the alleged perpetrator of the Clapham alkali attack.
Abdul Shokoor Ezedi had been evading authorities since an incident in south London on Wednesday, where a woman and her two young daughters sustained injuries.
The Metropolitan Police disclosed that a man was taken into custody on suspicion of assisting Ezedi following a pre-dawn operation on Monday. Additionally, they reported a recent sighting of Ezedi in the Southwark Bridge vicinity on Wednesday night.
The woman, 31, who was attacked remains sedated in the hospital, and authorities say she may lose sight in one eye.
The man has been confirmed to know the woman and her children but is not the father to the kids. It’s still not clear what the relationship between Ezedi and the woman is or how long they’ve known each other.
Met Police Commander Jon Savell said a 22-year-old man was arrested for assisting an offender at 00:45 on Monday at an undisclosed location.
The suspect was taken to a police station in south London, where he was interviewed before being released on bail.
