A man has been arrested after a seven-year-old boy was killed in a crash.
William Brown died on Wednesday afternoon in the Sandgate area of Folkestone as he went to retrieve a football.
The crash, on Sandgate Esplanade, involved two vehicles but one of them had left the scene before emergency services arrived.
Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene but sadly William was pronounced dead.
His parents put out an emotional appeal for the driver of the vehicle who left the scene of the crash to come forward, filmed in William’s bedroom.
Kent Police has now confirmed a 49-year-old man from the Dymchurch area has been arrested in connection with William’s death.
The force is still appealing for anyone who saw the crash, or who might have dashcam footage of the area before and after, to get in touch.
