Man living on less than £7 a day begs Government not to cut ‘lifeline’ Universal Credit
The Daily Mirror says a man trying to rebuild his life has begged the government not to go ahead with cutting the ‘lifeline’ Universal Credit uplift, fearing he won’t be able to put food on the table if they do.
Matthew Jeffrey, 38, will be left with only £200 a month to live on when the funds are cut back – equalling just £6.66 each day, LeedsLive reports.
He had worked as a sales manager for eight years before being illegally evicted from his home after losing his job three years ago.
