A man has been charged with the murders of father and son Gary and Joshua Dunmore in Cambridgeshire.

Stephen Alderton, 66,is due to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on April 1.

The charge follows two shootings in villages near Huntingdon on Wednesday, that claimed the lives of Gary and Joshua Dunmore.

Today, their family released tributes to both men.

They said: ‘Josh was a devoted father and a loving uncle. He was a wonderful son and brother and leaves behind an extensive group of family and friends.

‘He will be deeply missed and the devastation this has caused will never heal.

‘Gary was the most devoted son, brother, dad, and grandad, who gave everything for those he loved. He was a gentle and generous person who always put others before himself and he’ll be massively missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.

‘We ask for privacy to mourn this loss at this incredibly difficult time.’

Gary was described by a neighbour, who gave his name only as Stuart, as a ‘legend’ and said Joshua, also known as Josh, was a ‘passionate guy’.

A floral tribute left to Josh said the 32-year-old’s ‘son was a very lucky boy to have a dad like you’, while another said he ‘fought every day’ for his ‘precious boy’.

Police were called to reports of gunshots at a property in Meridian Close, Bluntisham, just after 9pm.

The body of a 32-year-old man was found inside the property with a gunshot wound.
