Major update in search for missing teenager who vanished last month after a call with her mum

Police have released a major update into the disappearance of a teenager in London who vanished a month ago after her phone was snatched.

Lilyanne Hook, 19, rang her parents from an unknown number on November 15 to say she was in Peckham before the call came to an abrupt end.

She has had no contact with her family since, with her dad telling Metro ‘she has never gone two days without calling her mum’.

The teenager had previously rang her parents on November 11 to let them know her phone had been snatched.

But officers have now confirmed a sighting on November 25, after Lilyanne was last seen leaving her flat November 10.

Metropolitan Police said: ‘Officers have since confirmed a sighting of Lilyanne in Peckham on Monday, 25 November.

‘They are working to confirm a further, more recent, sighting. It is likely she is still in the area.

‘She made contact with her family by phone on Friday, 15 November. She did not use her own phone to make the call.’

Lilyanne’s dad Mark Hook is desperately appealing for any information on her whereabouts.

He told Metro: ‘She’s a very outgoing and independent young lady, but the longest we have ever gone without speaking to her before was two days.

‘We can’t think why she would not want any contact, but we just want to know she is okay.

‘She rang us from an unknown number to let us know her phone had been snatched, and we’ve been worried ever since.’

Mark, who lives in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, said Lilyanne has her mum’s mobile number memorised and would always call her from friend’s phones to let her know she was okay when she did not have her own.

The Metropolitan Police added: ‘It is understood that her phone had been stolen at some point prior to the date she was reported missing.

‘Lilyanne is 19. She is white, about 5ft 4in tall with a slim to medium build and long brown wavy hair. Her nose is pierced on both sides.

‘She has a large Japanese cherry blossom tattoo on her back and the number 444 on one of her arms.’

Lilyanne had moved to London on her own to experience living in the city with her friends after studying at Birmingham University for a year.

Mark said: ‘Her mum, sister and I are all missing her. It’s her birthday on December 21 and we have always spent the day together.

‘The police are doing all they can and checking CCTV footage but we still can’t find my daughter.’
