Major rush hour delays and train cancellations into london‘s Euston station | UK News

Travel to London Euston has been affected again after a power issue disrupted trains this morning.

Passengers were warned of severe delays this morning after a power supply issue.

Trains between Watford Junction and London Euston are affected.

Services could be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 20 minutes.

The disruption is expected to last at least until ‘the end of the day,’ National Rail warned.

National Rail said it was due to a ‘fault with the electric third rail and a speed restriction over a defective track’ between Watford and Euston.

Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway are affected.

Service between Watford and Euston has resumed to normal.

    Train routes affected

Here are all the routes hit by the disruption this morning.

-Avanti West Coast between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central / Blackpoool North / Lancaster / Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street / Chester / Holyhead / Wolverhampton / Birmingham New Street and London Euston

-London Northwestern Railway between Crewe / Birmingham New Street / Coventry / Rugby / Northampton / Milton Keynes Central / Bletchley / Tring and London Euston

⚠️ Journeys to/from Manchester Piccadilly may be subject to cancellation this morning due to a defective track between Watford Junction and London Euston.

Avanti West Coast said on X (formerly Twitter) that all services in and out of Euston will be affected, but ‘the Manchester route will be affected more with cancellations.’

Trains through Watford and Euston will also be affected by an additional speed restriction over a defective track on that stretch.

Today’s disruption comes after trains to Euston were affected yesterday after a chemical spillage on tracks near Crewe.

Passengers may be entitled to compensation, so it is worth checking with your train company.
