The first preparations are under way for Hyde Park’s British Summer Time festival in 2024 – and now the first headliner has been announced.
It’s been revealed that Italian singing sensation Andrea Bocelli will take to the famous stage next summer, with more big names coming soon.
It’s been quite the week for Bocelli, with him recently being revealed as the musical star behind the song featured in the brand new John Lewis advert.
The London festival, which first started back in 2013, has grown in size, with nine different headliners playing dates in June and July earlier this year.
Bocelli, who has performed for the Pope, several US presidents, and British Prime Ministers, is among the most successful classical singers of all time.
‘Hyde Park is the perfect place for coming together to celebrate my 30th anniversary [as a singer] and reimagine it as a springboard propelling us into the future,’ Bocelli said.

‘Celebrating it here is sure to be unforgettable, in the vast green lung from which London has been drawing breath for hundreds of years,’ he added.
Bocelli will perform on Friday, July 5, with many other headlines expected to be announced in the coming days before tickets go on sale on November 15.
He has collaborated with iconic opera singers such as Pavarotti, and many pop stars including Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Céline Dion, and Dua Lipa.

Dion once said of the Festa singer: ‘If God had a singing voice, he would sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli.’
As well as selling over 90million records, he has a Golden Globe, seven Classical Brit Awards under his belt, plus a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He famously performed Nessun Dorma in 2016 for Leicester City and their Italian manager Claudio Ranieri after they claimed the Premier League title.
His confirmation as the first headline act for the festival comes just days after the release of the new John Lewis Christmas advert, featuring Bocelli himself.
He appears in the advert performing an original song of his named Festa, and it could see him in the running for the Christmas number one in 2023.
