Luana Alonso launches OnlyFans page after being removed from Paris 2024 Olympic village
Olympic swimmer Luana Alonso has decided to fire up an OnlyFans page just months after being removed from the athletes’ village at Paris 2024 for ‘inappropriate’ behaviour.
Alonso represented Paraguay in the women’s 100m butterfly at this summer’s Games but failed to advance beyond her heat, with American Torri Huske later clinching gold in the event.
Gretchen Walsh of the United States and China’s Zhang Yufei claimed the silver and bronze medals respectively.
Alonso went on to announce her shock retirement from swimming at the age of just 20, thanking the sport for allowing her to ‘dream’ and live out her ‘best experiences’.
‘Swimming: thank you for allowing me to dream, you taught me to fight, to try, perseverance, sacrifice, discipline and many more,’ she wrote on her Instagram page.
‘I gave you part of my life and I don’t change it for anything in the world because I lived the best experiences of my life, you gave me thousands of joys, friends from other countries that I will always carry them in my heart, unique opportunities.
‘It’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon.’
But there was a twist in the tale as the Paraguayan Olympic team issued a statement of their own, claiming Alonso had been removed from the athletes’ living quarters for creating an ‘inappropriate’ environment.
‘Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay,’ a statement from Larissa Schaerer, the head of the COP mission, read.
‘We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the athletes’ village.’
Reports at the time claimed Paraguayan Olympic chiefs were furious after Alonso allegedly snuck out of the athletes’ village without permission to visit Disneyland Paris.
While Alonso stressed that it was ‘not goodbye’ in her retirement announcement, it was unclear what the future held for the Asuncion-born athlete.
But the former swimmer has put an end to the uncertainty surrounding her next career move, pointing her Instagram followers in the direction of her new OnlyFans page, featuring exclusive content for a subscription fee of $35-a-month.
Alonso’s OnlyFans bio reads: ‘Your favourite ex-swimmer.
‘Promise you won’t regret this. We’re gonna have a lot of fun together.’
After bringing her swimming days to an end in the summer, Alonso outlined her plans to continue studying in the States with a view to becoming a sports minister in the future.
‘I made the decision to stop and I am happy that my last race will be at the Olympics,’ she said.
‘I am going to go to study in the United States, I am going to continue my career in political science and, why not, be sports minister one day.
‘I will always have a fondness for swimming and I may attend a competition, but it is not what I want in life.
‘What I want is to work for a company, I already have my life plan and hopefully it can happen.’
