Love Island’s Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga were dealt a few choice words on Sunday night as the villa welcomed the islanders’ families ahead of the final.

The penultimate episode of the reality dating show saw the house’s most turbulent relationship face the opinions of their families who had been anxiously watching on for the last number of weeks.

As the pair split off to have private chats with their loved ones, it was all eyes on Shaq’s siblings as they offered their thoughts on his other half Tanya.

The 24-year-old’s friend went first and expressed his concern over his sibling’s difficult time in the villa.

Declaring Tanya had ‘done him dirty’, he explained that it was hard to watch their relationship play out on the television.

However, the rising star’s sister wasn’t so forgiving and warned her brother of trusting and forgiving too quickly.

She said: ‘I wish she had dealt with situations differently. Going forward don’t be so quick to forgive, people have to actually do the work to show you that they’ve… do you know what I mean?

‘We could tell you weren’t yourself, it was hard to watch you’.

Fans were quick to react to the moment on Twitter, praising Shaq’s family for speaking honestly about the situation.

One penned: ‘While we’re all over the Casa Amor incident, it was good to see Shaq’s sis tell him the truth about that whole situation.

‘She even told him not to be so quick to forgive, which I agree with. Let me stop talking before I get dragged for stating the obvious again lol [sic]’.

Another commented: ‘Ok. Thank you Shaq sis. He needs some real talk [sic]’.

‘Shaq’s family is not forgiving #tanya easily. And they shouldn’t. And knowing Tanya doubt whether she will take it [sic],’ was a users tweet about the scene.

The couple’s relationship has been one of major ups and downs since they met on the very first day of the experience.

Tanya broke Shaq’s trust after she returned from Casa Amor with a new boy Martin and caused ructions in the house as she changed her mind time and time again.

Love Island airs weekdays on ITV 2 at 9pm.
