Love Island viewers have been left divided by Mitchel Taylor ‘proposing’ to Molly Marsh just three days after meeting.

Of course, the 26-year-old gas engineer was only joking about ‘marrying’ 21-year-old Molly, but viewers were still stunned at how quickly the pair have been moving.

Molly and Mitchel have been sharing snuggles in bed, and things seem to be going well so far, as the pair shared their first kiss on the terrace on Wednesday night.

They’d already shared a snog in bed, as well as during games and challenges, but their move on the terrace appeared to be a big one.

As they sat down on the sofa, Mitchel turned to Molly and asked: ‘Will you marry me?’

After the pair laughed it off, she said: ‘What? I feel like you’re going to scare me right now, what have you got to tell me? You’re going to scare me!’

He replied: ‘Listen, I know we’ve been kissing in challenges, and I can’t not kiss you tonight when you look that good.’

However, viewers were distracted from their adorable terrace smooch by his proposal moments earlier.

‘Mitchel is the epitome of love bombing, far too much too soon. Cringe,’ one viewer slammed.

Another penned: ‘not being a hater but why are mitchel and molly moving like it’s been 7 days already.’

Other viewers were more hopeful for the couple, with one writing: ‘Molly and Mitchel are either going to win or fall apart, I really hope they work out.’

Another said: ‘Gunna keep pretending to be cool and casual and that I’m not already obsessed with Molly and Mitchel when actually I love them with my whole heart.’

Someone else wrote: ‘I can feel myself getting way too attached to Molly and Mitchel.’

Molly later said in the Beach Hut: ‘He literally just went in and he does move fast, but I guess it worked in his favour!’

On Tuesday, Mitchel was praised by all the girls around the firepit after strolling over to offer Molly his jacket.

‘Can you train up the other ones?’ Ella joked, while the other boys were urged to ‘take notes’.

‘Me and Mitchel haven’t spoken that much this morning, I feel like people are getting the vibe that the connection is really good, but I don’t want people to see that all the time like I am open to speak to everyone,’ Molly later insisted, before chats with George and Zachariah.

Could there be trouble in paradise? (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock)

However, in a teaser for Thursday’s episode, it seems trouble could be brewing as kissing challenges may throw a curveball.

In the clip, Molly is heard saying ‘I didn’t expect that at all,’ after she receives a cheeky snog from bombshell Zachariah Noble.

‘It’s all kicking off again,’ Mitchel warns.

    We can’t wait!

Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.
