Former Love Island star Curtis Pritchard has made a dig at his ex-girlfriend Maura Higgins days before she enters the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle.
The pair first met during the 2019 season of Love Island, where they coupled up after he infamously dumped Amy Hart.
They made it to the final and were named in fourth place but despite leaving the villa together, they broke up just under a year later in March 2020.
In the years since, the two have traded barbs, with Curtis, 28, now taking another swipe at his ex.
It comes after Maura, 33, discusses her experience on Love Island on Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast.
Speaking about her ex, she described him as a ‘why not’ man, explaining she only dated him due to there being limited options in the villa.
However, Curtis has now hit back.
‘I’ve no idea what’s she done. I don’t even know what podcast you’re on about. I have no idea,’ he said when asked whether he’d listened to the episode.
He added: ‘She can’t keep my name out of her mouth, can she?’
Curtis made the comments when speaking to The Sun while attending the Irish Post Awards with his girlfriend Sophie Sheridan.
When being interviewed, Maura had said Curtis was not her ‘dream man’ and wasn’t even her ‘type’ but that she decided to give him a chance.
‘When you’re locked in a house, I say locked but you’re in a house and you’re in there for X amount of time. You’re going to start liking people that you wouldn’t normally like.
‘Not to be mean but you are, you’re in there. I’m pretty sure it would probably be the same on Big Brother. You’re locked in a house; you’re not seeing any other men. You’re going to be like “why not”.’
Curtis and Maura reunited on screen last year when he was eliminated from Love Island Games and appeared on the spin-off show she was hosting, however things were clearly strained between the two.
Following their split, Curtis was accused of cheating on Maura, claims he denied.
The professional dancer, who previously appeared on the Irish version of Dancing with the Stars, is now dating dancer Sophie Sheridan, whom he met during a pantomime production of Cinderella in Wolverhampton in 2021.
Meanwhile Maura recently addressed rumours she is dating Towie star Pete Wicks, who is currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing.
During Paul’s podcast, she spoke about Pete, saying they had ‘instantly clicked’, which came after they were previously snapped kissing after a date in London.
Maura is also expected to fly to Australia in coming days to become a campmate on the latest season of the ITV reality series I’m A Celebrity.
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
