Louis Tomlinson and Zara McDermott look loved up on romantic Costa Rica getaway
It seems love is truly in the air for Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson, who were recently spotted soaking up the sun during a romantic escape to Costa Rica.
The former Love Island star, 28, and One Direction singer, 33, appeared smitten as they strolled through the laid-back surf town of Santa Teresa, where Louis has been quietly recording his next album.
The couple, who went Instagram official just last week, haven’t left each other’s side since confirming their relationship in March – three months after Zara’s split from reality star Sam Thompson.
Footage shared by fans shows Louis affectionately placing a hand on Zara’s shoulder as they leave a venue, stopping to pose for selfies and engage with well-wishers.
In one clip, the singer is heard telling a fan, ‘I’ve been loving it, I’ve been loving…’ while Zara steps aside and insists, ‘You guys get a picture. Don’t worry about me, just get one with him.’
According to The Sun, Louis made sure Zara travelled in style, arranging for her to fly first class from London to join him in Costa Rica.
The romantic gesture meant Zara missed out on attending the TV BAFTAs, but sources say she had no hesitation: ‘She is keen to spend as much time with Louis as possible. He’s been out in Costa Rica for a few weeks recording his album and is keen to show her the sights.’
Zara has been documenting moments from their tropical retreat, recently posting a photo of a fiery orange sky tagged with the simple caption: ‘beautiful.’
Louis couldn’t resist commenting, leaving a heartfelt “Proud of you x” under another of Zara’s posts, in which she celebrated her growing confidence as a documentary filmmaker.
‘In the edit for my new series all about Thailand,’ Zara wrote. ‘I’m so unbelievably excited about this one. I can’t believe I’ve been making documentaries for 5 years now… I feel my confidence in front of the camera, in my producing (and in myself!!) growing so much.’
She went on to describe the new show as one that balances ‘serious topics’ with ‘fun,’ and hinted at a summer release for a separate stalking documentary, with the Thailand series to follow later in the year.
Louis isn’t the only one showing support. His younger sister Daisy also chimed in, calling Zara ‘clever and beautiful,’ in a sign the relationship has already won family approval.
In March the pair first sparked romance rumours when being spotted on a romantic getaway in Suffolk.
They were seen together just three months after Zara’s split from Sam Thompson, 32, who now seems to be dating another Love Island star – Sami Elishi, 25.
In the past few months Louis and Zara had dropped several hints on social media they were together, firstly when posting similar videos from a concert in Los Angeles followed by a snap of her at brunch with his wrist tattoo in the background.
Since then, they’ve been snapped in public holding hands and kissing before they seemed to go official with Louis’ comment on Instagram.
