London weather peaks with cooler temperatures on way for UK after heatwave | UK News
UK weather has broken temperature records this week, with Wednesday being the hottest day of the year so far.
Londoners have been coping with the heatwave this week, with some enjoying it to the max while it has been less fun if you’re stuck inside in a muggy apartment.
The last of the heatwave lingered above London, the far South East and East Anglia on Thursday before cooler air began flowing in from the Atlantic.
As London enjoyed the last of the warm spell, northwestern Scotland and Northern Ireland were hit by ‘unseasonably’ rainy weather with strong gusts, with the low pressure moving across rest of Scotland, north of England and Wales into Friday morning.
The sun will peek through the clouds throughout the day, with maximum temperatures of 23°C – a walk in the park compared to the past week.
Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, becomes the seventh biggest UK city for the weekend as around 210,000 people flock to the site.
The weather at Glasto will be quintessentially British over the weekend thanks to cooler air from the Atlantic.
