‘Major incident’ declared as A&E departments flooded at two hospitals
The Metro says: An NHS trust in London has declared a ‘major incident’ after two hospital A&E departments were left partially underwater.
The capital and other places in southern England have been battered by storms, with families stranded and tube stations flooded.
Newham Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital were left with ‘operational issues’ as torrential rain continued into the night.
Both are still open for walk-ins, but patients are asked to go to alternative hospitals where possible
