Liverpool shooting: School dedicates day to Olivia Pratt-Korbel
The school attended by Liverpool shooting victim Olivia Pratt-Korbel have dedicated the day to her – ahead of her funeral today.
Olivia was shot when a stranger forced his way into her home, being chased by a gunman who opened fire – shooting Olivia and her mum. Olivia’s mum survived her injuries.
Children at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Junior School will wear pink in memory of their classmate as the building is decorated in pink hearts and ribbons.
“The memory of her is very much alive”, the school’s head teacher said. The school has taken the students off the timetable for the day and instead it will be a day of reflection for the children. “The children are free to speak about Olivia, it is not something they are afraid to talk about,” she said.
Nine people have been arrested in connection with the shooting that happened around 3 weeks ago. So far, no charges have been brought.
Her funeral will take place at St Margaret Mary’s Church in Dovecot at 11:00 BST.
