Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Fulham over the possibility of signing defender Antonee Robinson in January.
Victory at Burnley on Boxing Day has moved Liverpool top of the table and they go into the new year with great confidence that they can win the Premier League title.
However, their chances took a little knock recently after Kostas Tsimikas was ruled out indefinitely after breaking his collarbone during the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last week.
With Andy Robertson also out with a shoulder injury and not expected back until the end of January, Jurgen Klopp has no natural left-backs at his disposal, with Joe Gomez set to deputise in that position for the time being.
Additionally, Joel Matip will miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury which has left the Reds perilously short on defensive options, and as a result they’re looking to invest in reinforcements when the transfer window re-opens.
To that end, the Express report that Liverpool have approached Fulham to make enquiries about Robinson regarding his availability and how much a move for the left-back could cost.
It is said that the USA international is open to moving to Anfield but a deal could prove expensive as he only signed a new contract five months ago that is set to keep him at Craven Cottage until 2028.

The 26-year-old, who was previously on the books of Liverpool’s rivals Everton, joined Fulham from Wigan in 2020 for just £2million.
To date he’s made 127 appearances for the Cottagers and was named in the 2021/22 Championship Team of the Season as his side stormed their way to the title.

It remains to be seen whether Marco Silva would be willing to let the defender go with his side just six points clear of the drop and in danger of getting dragged into a relegation fight.
In the meantime, Fulham can do Liverpool a favour in the title race when they host Arsenal on New Year’s Eve, with the Reds set to take on Newcastle in the first Premier League match of 2024.
