Prince Charles to set out government’s plans at state opening of parliament at 11.30am alongside his son and heir Prince William.
Prince Charles arrives with Camilla
Prince Charles, with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William have arrived by car at the Palace of Westminster. They are making their way to the Robing Room.
Prince William arrives
Prince William has arrived at the House of Lords – Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew are all “counsellors of state” meaning they can step in and be allowed to act on behalf of the monarch, meaning they can open parliament. It raises questions over Harry and Andrew as both are no longer working royals and could possibly see them replaced.
