Lea Michele has revealed that her son is in hospital with a ‘scary health issue’, pleading for ‘love and strength’.
The Glee actress shares son Ever, two, with husband Zandy Reich, welcoming the toddler in 2020.
Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old said that she would be forced to miss her upcoming performance of Funny Girl on Broadway later today.
‘I’m so sorry but unfortunately I will be out of @FunnyGirlBwy today,’ she penned alongside a snap of her hand resting on her son’s arm, beside a teddy bear.
‘We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for.
‘I’m so sorry. Please send us some love and strength.’

Lea, who plays Fanny Bryce in the musical, gave no further information on the hospital visit.
A message on the official Funny Girl Instagram page simply reads: ‘Lea Michele will be out of both the matinee and evening performance today, Wednesday, March 22.
‘Julie Benko will be your fabulous Fanny!’
In the comments below, fans rushed to offer their support to the family.
‘I hope Ever is going to be okay,’ one wrote.
‘Sending love and prayers to lea and her family,’ a follower penned.
Another agreed: ‘Family first always. I hope everything is okay.’
An Instagram user added: ‘Sending all the love and strength to lea and her strong family.’
Lea confirmed her pregnancy in May, 2020, after intense speculation, and welcomed her first child in August.
Speaking about her journey to motherhood the following year, the Scream Queens star spoke of her ‘very scary’ pregnancy.
Lea explained that she struggled to conceive due to polycystic ovaries syndrome, and had a difficult pregnancy.
During a chat with Katherine Schwarzenegger for the Before, During & After Instagram Live series, she said: ‘I had a very, very intense, very scary pregnancy. I’ve never shared my experience with anyone, which I think is something that – now that I am a mom – I see myself doing in a lot of ways, not sharing for fear of not sounding perfect or just being afraid… I withheld a lot of my experience.’
At one point, she feared that she could lose her baby due to heavy bleeding, which continued throughout her first trimester.
‘It was just horrible. It was absolutely, absolutely horrible. I finally announced I was pregnant, and I still was uncertain if the pregnancy was going to last,’ she continued.
‘I just woke up and I was like, “I just want to be a mum right now. I want this time.” And it was horrible. It was the lowest I’ve been in my entire life. We were all really, really afraid.

‘But that was one of the hardest days of my life, because I was just like, “Oh, I’m going to let everyone know I’m pregnant, but this probably isn’t going to work out.” There’s that sense of vulnerability to me that’s been really challenging.’
‘My little baby is such a fighter,’ she added of Ever. ‘I remember the minute I held him, the first thing I said to him I was like, “You did so good.”’
