Lauren Harries’ mum has shared a video filmed right after the star underwent emergency brain surgery.
Katy described it as ‘one of the scariest experiences’ as she watched her daughter open her eyes and sit up in bed for the first time, not knowing how she would recover.
Lauren, who finished third on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, had the procedure in April, with her mum pleading for fans to keep her in their thoughts.
She’s been keeping her followers updated throughout the healing process, explaining that she’s been fighting ‘permanent headaches’ and heavily bruised arms and hands.
The child prodigy also suffered her ‘worst nightmare’ as she lost her long curly locks, and ‘nearly died’ when she contracted infections.
Taking to Twitter for the latest update, Katy, 80, uploaded a video of her 45-year-old daughter, holding her hands while sitting in her hospital bed.

‘All I wanted to do was swap places with Lauren.’
She explained: ‘This is just after her brain surgery, even then we had no idea if we’d ever get our Lauren back again.
‘Seeing her like this was terrifying.
‘She has been so brave and I am so proud of her for all she’s been through.’
‘We love you so much Lauren. Xxxx’, she signed off.

Lauren – who rose to fame as an antiques expert – recently told fans that she’s become more appreciative of life following her near-death experience.

Meanwhile, she’s still having scans to determine the cause of her ‘blackouts’.
Mum Katy tweeted on Friday (June 2): ‘Lauren had an M.R.I. scan this morning. Hopefully, this will decide what is causing continuous headaches and blackouts. We thank you so much for your messages and cards. Keep you updated’.
They’re now awaiting the results.
