The Guardian – Labour warned over loss of urban seats in election
Labour risks losing a number of seats in its main target areas due to alienation over Gaza and climate, according to The Guardian, citing senior party figures and polling experts. The paper says pollsters have warned that the party’s stance on Gaza has angered some Muslims, while younger progressive voters feel it is not focusing enough on climate change.
One senior adviser tells the paper: “At the moment it looks like it doesn’t matter as our poll lead is so wide, but it could hurt if they narrow and those voters don’t come back.”
