Daily Express – Labour man held over call to cut rioters’ throats
A Labour councillor has been arrested after allegedly calling for the throats of anti-immigration protesters to be cut, according to the Daily Express. Ricky Jones, an elected councillor in Dartford, was filmed ranting that the far-right should have their throats cut. Speaking to the crowd, he raved: “They are disgusting Nazi fascists. And we need to cut all their throats and get rid of them all!” There is also a report on Team GB, who have tasted success at the Paris Olympics once again thanks to Ellie Aldridge.
Moment Labour councillor shouts ‘cut their throats!’ as Nigel Farage demands arrest
The Labour Party has suspended one of its councillors over “completely unacceptable” comments made during a counter-demonstration last night.
Ricky Jones, an elected councillor in Dartford, was filmed ranting that the far-right should have their throats cut.
Speaking to the crowd, he raved: “They are disgusting Nazi fascists. And we need to cut all their throats and get rid of them all!”
He was cheered by the anti-racism protesters.
Reacting to the clip, Nigel Farage said the comments should result in the man’s arrest, and argued if he is not it will be proof of “two-tier policing”.
Ellie Aldridge finally wins Team GB’s 13th gold at Olympics in women’s kite final
Team GB have finally landed a 13th gold medal at the Paris Olympics after Ellie Aldridge claimed victory in the women’s kitesurfing final. The sailing event was introduced at the Paris Games for the first time in Olympics history.
Aldridge clinched a silver medal at the Olympics test event last year. But she upgraded the colour to gold after dominating her rivals at the Marseille Marina on Thursday.
France’s Lauriane Nolot got her hands on the silver medal, while the Netherlands’ Annelous Lammerts clinched the bronze. Meanwhile, USA’s Daniela Moroz narrowly missed out on a medal after finishing fourth.
Aldridge needed a total of three wins to take the gold medal but went into the final with only one victory to her name, while Nolot had two. But the Briton evened up the points by winning the first final race and stormed to her third win in the next one.
