Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh broke down in tears after opening up about her dad’s devastating cancer battle.
The Michelle Connor actress, 47, first revealed dad Dave’s prostate cancer diagnosis in 2021, and has offered people regular updates on how he is getting on.
Speaking about his journey on Morning Live, Kym explained how they hoped to encourage people to get checked, revealing that Dave had delayed visiting a doctor due to the Covid pandemic.
Unfortunately, the latest update brought bad news, as Kym revealed that Dave’s cancer had spread, with doctors being unable to offer anymore chemotherapy.
During today’s BBC Morning Live, Kym and co-host Gethin Jones were joined by her dad David, 73, and her mum Pauline in the studio to raise awareness about the disease.
During the pre-recorded clip, Kym told viewers: ‘I wouldn’t want to see anyone else go through this. I get more emotional than my dad does, he’s so strong it’s unbelievable.

‘We know we’ve got to that point where they can’t do anything else for him, and they said ‘go and make memories with your family and that’s very much what we’re doing.’
Kym and Dave have an incredibly close bond, with the actress recently surprising him with a new tattoo, which she had done in tribute to him.
Posting a video of his reaction to social media, Kym explained how she had got an ice cream tattooed because of Dave’s love of the sweet snack.
‘So…..I’ve had a new tattoo for my dad!!! Since his incurable cancer diagnosis he has been obsessed with ice cream! He literally has one every day!
‘So I got an ice cream on the inside of my forearm for him to remind me of my wonderful dad, Every time I look at it!! He’s the best ever! Love you dad,’ she wrote in the caption of the post.
