Kylian Mbappé to take legal action against PSG over unpaid salary
It’s fair to say, Kylian Mbappé’s time at PSG wasn’t an easy one. If the speculation is true, he had wanted to leave for some time.
There were rumours that the French superstar had been unhappy for some time, and when it was finally announced he would be leaving his club of 7 years – he notably thanked everyone but the club’s directors or owners.
And now it seems the dispute has taken a new turn, with the now Real Madrid star taking legal action against his former club, saying they owe him €55 million for the final months of his salary, as well as other bonuses which could total around €100 million.
Mbappe is now settling into his new life in Spain but disagreements around the circumstances of his departure pitted the star against the PSG management and its main shareholder Qatar Sports Investments who withheld payments from the French team captain.
The dispute has now been passed on to France’s Professional Football League (LFP) according to the newspaper Le Monde. Mbappé’s lawyers have said they are also prepared to go to an employment tribunal if there’s no resolution from the sport’s governing bodies.
PSG say their financial actions were justified and has said that negotiations are ongoing with Mbappé and his representatives.
