Kyle Walker is closing in on a move to Bayern Munich with talks ongoing between the German giants and Manchester City.

The 33-year-old has been at City since 2017 and played a big part in their success, with the England international winning five Premier League titles and adding the Champions League to his CV this season.

However, he didn’t start in that famous win over Inter Milan, having to settle for a late appearance from the bench and he is reportedly unhappy with falling down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola.

The full-back still made 39 appearances in all competitions this season, but is certainly not a guaranteed starter anymore and is happy to explore other options as he seeks to play more regularly.

The Athletic report that there ‘remains work to be done’ on a deal to take him to Bayern Munich, but that an agreement is expected to be reached with the transfer fee unlikely to be a stumbling block.

City paid Tottenham £50m for Walker in 2017, but at 33 with just one year left on his contract, it will not be a huge fee they are requesting from the Bundesliga champions.

Walker has made 254 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions, scoring six goals in that time, also winning two FA Cups and four League Cups.

He has also been linked with an emotional return to his hometown club Sheffield United, but Bayern Munich and the chance to lift more trophies look to be the most likely destination for the right-back.
