King Charles‘s attempts to reconcile with his son, Prince Harry, and his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, have been thwarted thanks to Omid Scobie’s new book, according to a royal expert.
The upcoming Endgame, which has promised to “make the royal family feel ashamed,” has driven a further wedge between father and son.
“While Scobie has always rejected suggestions he is a Sussex mouthpiece, there is no doubt that he still has excellent contacts in the Sussex camp,” reported a source close to the palace.
“It seems highly probably that next week’s media coverage of the royals will be largely concerned with the critical allegations against the royals made in Scobie’s book. Like it or not, many will see the hand of the Sussexes in Scobie’s text.”

And this, according to the royal expert, has King Charles feeling frustrated.
“It frustrates him that personal issues intrude on the public duty. He’d much rather the focus was on his work, not the soap opera of the private life. It is always frustrating when family dynamics overshadow the public role,” a royal expert told The Sunday Times.
This news comes shortly after the King revealed that he’s in a great deal of anguish over the state of his relationship with his son.
“Has His Majesty made mistakes when it comes to parenting? Yes,” a source told Daily Mail. “Would he privately admit he could have done some things better, or at least differently? Of course.”

Part of the King’s anguish came from the revelations the Duke of Sussex made in his blockbuster book, Spare, where Harry revealed that his father was a less-than-ideal man to raise him.
Yet, despite Prince Harry‘s revelations which have hurt him personally, King Charles maintains that his duty comes before his parenting.
“While I am sure they still don’t agree on everything all the time, he and the Prince of Wales are firmly united now around a common shared interest, which is to keep the institution in a place where it can serve the nation,” the royal expert claims.
That feeling, however, is tempered by Charles’s reported anger at Harry for what he feels are slights against both his mother and his wife, Queen Camilla.
