King Charles has started cancer treatment
King Charles has returned home after starting outpatient cancer treatment, which he started on Monday.
Yesterday, Buckingham Palace announced the King had been diagnosed with cancer. It had been discovered after he went to the hospital for a procedure for an enlarged prostate. The Palace has not announced what form of cancer the King has, but has confirmed that it’s not prostate cancer.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said he maintains “regular contact” with the King and expressed gratitude that the illness was detected at an early stage.
Charles has postponed public engagements but will continue to fulfil state responsibilities and hold weekly meetings with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
It comes amid a lot of health issues for the royals in recent weeks, after the Duchess of York’s skin cancer shock, then Charles and the Princess of Wales both being in hospital for operations.
Kate is due to be out of action until after Easter.
