Katrina Gorry reportedly close to WSL move
Aussie footballer Katrina Gorry is reportedly close to agreeing a move that would see her join Women’s Super League (WSL) outfit West Ham in January.
According to BBC Sport, West Gam are close to signing a deal with the Matildas star after discussions took place during the 2023 World Cup – held in Australia and New Zealand.
The Matildas midfielder, who has 103 international caps, is a free agent after departing Swedish side Vittsjo GIK.
A transfer to West Ham would see Gorry reunite with Matildas teammate and Hammers captain Mackenzie Arnold.
Fellow Matildas star Charlotte Grant also left Vittsjo at the end of the season and she has been tipped to make the switch to the WSL.
West Ham have been linked with Grant, as have several other WSL clubs.
BBC Sport reports Tottenham are among the teams to have held discussions, while Arsenal – who boast Aussie trio Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney-Cross – are also believed to have shown an interest in the 22-year-old though they would need to offload players before making any deals.
