A lawsuit filed against Kanye West’s school has alleged that the school lacked windows as the controversial rapper ‘did not like glass.’
The I Wonder hitmaker, 46, is being sued by an ex-employee who worked at two schools set up by the musician over alleged health and safety violations and for dismissing the employee when he complained.
Isaiah Meadows, a former assistant principal at Donda Academy, has also claimed he was fired after raising various safety concerns about the establishment.
Court documents obtained by Radar Online give insight into the alleged safety issues and refer to Kanye’s alleged preference to not have windows in the buildings as he ‘did not like glass.’
‘In the middle of the main classroom, a skylight was left without glass inevitably allowing rain to fall directly inside, where water would soak into the floor, which would lead to a moldy smell for the next few days,’ they read.
‘The skylight was intentionally without glass because West expressed that he did not like glass.’

The documents also allege that the educational establishment had a ‘terrible smell’ due to an overflowing septic tank as well as ‘serious wiring issues.’
It is claimed in the lawsuit that these wiring issues caused an electrical fire ‘near the student eating area where wire was laid atop the ground, exposed.’
Meadows says he was hired to work at the school in November 2020 and alleges that West had agreed to pay his rent as part of his employment and requested that he and his family be closer to the premises.
However, he alleges he was later ‘suspended after calling for meetings and raising concerns regarding operations of the school.’
In the lawsuit, Meadows goes on to say that two weeks later he was reinstated but the musician no longer paid his rent and he was given a lower salary before later being fired in August 2022.
The lawsuit states: ‘Defendants intentionally terminated Plaintiff with the intent of punishing him for engaging in a protected activity, and in doing so, Defendants acted maliciously, fraudulently and oppressively, with the wrongful intention of injuring Plaintiff.’

Isaiah’s lawyer has vowed to hold Kanye and the school’s directors “accountable”, as his is just the latest in a series of lawsuits made against the school.
Ron Zambrano, Meadows lawyer, has said he will hold Kanye and the school’s directors ‘accountable.’
‘The unlawful and retaliatory behaviour by Mr. West and the school directors have now been documented multiple times by other former employees who never even worked together but all experienced the same horrendous treatment and witnessed the same serious health, safety and education code violations, while all were subjected to the same fate – wrongful termination – and we plan to hold them accountable,’ he said.
The musician launched the private Christian school in 2022, which according to the website will ‘prepare students to become the next generation of leaders’ through ‘an ethic of integrity and care.’
This is the latest in a string of lawsuits against the school, with court documents obtained by the Daily Mail seeing allegations by Cecilia Hailey and her daughter, Chekarey Byers, who claim to have seen children at the school fed just one meal a day.

It alleges students were fed sushi while sitting on the floor.
Hailey and Byers reportedly claim they were discriminated against on the basis of their race and had wages held from them illegally, and that they were terminated for reporting code violations.
The documents also claim that colour was banned from classrooms and everyone was made to wear all black – and that there were no classes on the second floor as Kanye West is ‘afraid of stairs’.
On June 1, a third person, former teacher Timanii Meeks, was added to the suit, alleging she was fired last year for reporting a number of issues at the school.
West, as well as the school and three directors, are reported to be being sued for over $1million (£803,000) in damages.
