Should come with a warning: likely to trigger domestic disputes (Picture: Jeong Park/A24 via AP)
Veep and Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is spot-on in You’ve Hurt My Feelings, as a writer in a smug long-term marriage to therapist Don (The Crown’s Tobias Menzies).
Their relationship hits a speedbump when she overhears him give an honest (negative) reaction to her new novel – which Don repeatedly told her he loved.
How can she trust him again after he’s been consistently lying to her face?
A sharp comedy about truth in relationships and the little white lies we tell those we love, this should come with a warning: likely to trigger domestic disputes.
There’s a super supporting cast including Arian Moayed (aka Stewy from Succession) as a self-obsessed actor.
Real-life couple David Cross and Amber Tamblyn also star as Don’s warring patients.

The film is ultimately saved by a self-awareness of its own absurdly privileged viewpoint.
As Don points out of his wife’s novelistic neuroses: ‘The whole world is falling apart and this is what’s consuming you?’
You Hurt My Feelings is released August 8 on Prime Video.
