Julia Fox was living the dream walking for Dsquared2 over the weekend after seemingly using ‘five finger discount’ to nab their designs in the past.
The 33-year-old actress and model, who famously used to date Kanye West, appeared to be feeling very honest as she opened up about her experiences during Milan Fashion Week.
Reflecting on being part of the fashion brand’s runway show on Saturday, she admitted there was a time she had to find other ways to get her hands on their clothes.
Sharing some professional shots from her appearance at their event, Julia wrote: ‘After a string of rejections my manager once reassured me “your people will find you”, I’ve clung to those words for dear life and this is one of those moments.
‘I’ve loved @dsquared2 since way before I could even afford it! (I used to get it using the five finger discount iykyk).’
For the uninitiated, ‘iykyk’ means ‘if you know, you know’, and ‘five finger discount’ has long been used as slang for shoplifting (using your five fingers to get some discount, get it?).
Of course we don’t know for sure if Julia actually used to nab their clothes in that way, but either way it’s clear she’s been a fan for a long time.
She was able to walk for them in the city of her birth, and described the whole experience as ‘beyond a dream come true’.
She continued: ‘To be in Milan, the city I was born in, surrounded by people who inspire me and push the “boundaries” of fashion is beyond a dream come true.
‘Dean & Dan, never change. It was love at first sight for me. Thank u to my city sister @haleywollens for dreaming this up for me 💕’
Although the Uncut Gems actress is known for her attention-grabbing looks, she has previously ruled out the idea of attending the Met Gala if she ever got invited, insisting it’s all about ‘politics, privilege and who your parents are’.
Julia told MailOnline: ‘To be honest with you, the Met Gala has never spoken to me – I mean look at who is running it.’
‘If it was about fashion I’d be there but it’s not. It’s about politics, privilege, who your parents are and how much money you make,’ she added, before taking aim at Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who leads the way at the glitzy event.
She continued: ‘She just won’t quit – how long is she going to keep going? There is a disconnect. American Vogue is not my favourite: it needs to be more fun and fresh and new energy.’
