Josie Gibson has spoken out to address rumours that have been circulating about her future on This Morning.

In a post shared on Instagram, the TV presenter explained that she had recently been asked by plenty of fans why she had left the ITV programme.

Considering the speculation that had been spreading, the 38-year-old therefore decided to set the record straight.

Sharing a picture of herself on This Morning on the social media platform, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star wrote in her caption: ‘Alreeet lovers, Just to confirm, I have not left @thismorning I keep getting asked why I’ve left, so I thought it’s easier to clear up the rumour mill on here.

‘I am eternally grateful for all your love and support and I can not thank you enough. JG #squashingrumours.’

The rumour mill might have started churning after a post that Josie shared three days ago on Instagram, when she mentioned it was her ‘last day’ fronting the show with Dermot O’Leary.

She wrote at the time: ‘My last day with @dermotoleary tomorrow before @alisonhammond55 returns Friday.

‘Then @sianwelby takes the @thismorning reins next week. What an amazing group of ladies to share the sofa with!!!!!

‘@dermotoleary thank you for being my rock this week. You’ve been a complete star. 🌟.’

Underneath her latest post shutting down the rumours, Josie received plenty of supportive messages, including one from Big Brother winner Jordan Sangha which read: ‘Love you, Josie ❤️.’

Alison Hammond wrote: ‘Beautiful 😍,’ while a fan going by the name GMG added: ‘Thank god I love you on this morning.’

After numerous friends and fans reached out, Josie shared a follow-up message in the comments, which read: ‘Awww thanks Guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️.’

Several people also called for her to have a more regular role as a permanent presenter on the programme in future.

The TV personality recently competed on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, finishing in fourth place behind the winner, former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson.

She won the 11th series of Big Brother in 2010, before joining the This Morning team as a regular presenter in 2019.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
