TV presenter Jonnie Irwin is in a difficult frame of mind going through treatment for cancer as he hasn’t managed to sleep for a week.
The A Place In The Sun star, who recently turned 50, was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020, and was previously told he has six months to live after it spread to his brain.
Having initially kept his diagnosis private, Jonnie now regularly updates followers on his treatment and how he is spending time with his young family, which includes three sons and wife Jessica Holmes.
Jonnie is mixing his regular NHS treatment with alternative therapies including a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, vitamin C and reiki, and on Thursday the dad-of-three was back in hospital for tests.
He shared a photograph of himself, looking undefeated but tired, which is only natural considering what he captioned the photograph.
‘This is look of a man who’s not slept for 6 nights and awaiting a full body MRI scan of at least an hour,’ Jonnie, who in the photo is wearing a hospital gown, wrote.

‘If you haven’t had one they’re claustrophobic and claustrophobic and omit loud random noises. Joy.’
Always injecting humour into his posts, Jonnie pointed out the ‘attempt of a jaunty [knot]’ on his hospital gown, and predicted the cricket results upon his release as ‘India all out 195.’
Fans flocked to support the star in his newest medical checks, with hundreds writing ‘you’ve got this.’
User Baylytracey wrote: ‘I know the feeling so thinking of ou – stay strong,’ adding that he was ‘not alone.’
Lady_Eileena agreed ‘good luck Jonnie, it ain’t a great experience but they are great inventions.’
Tannhausers wrote: ‘Wishing you all the best Jonnie and hoping that you know many are thinking of you!’

Jonnie, who shares four-year-old Rex and twins Rafa and Cormac, three, with wife Jessica, spent some of last summer in a hospice after complications from strong painkillers.
Speaking about the ordeal to HELLO!, Jonnie said: ‘They sent me home to die but I slowly started to get food in me and I started to feel stronger and stronger and I had a really good summer.’
He had said he was determined to make it to his 50th birthday, and after celebrating the milestone birthday, was well enough to fly with his family to Costa Del Sol in November.
Jonnie is also working on renovating a home for his family as he continues treatment.
