Jonnie Irwin has left the UK for Spain after being hospitalised with jaundice.
The A Place in the Sun presenter, 49, confirmed last November that he had terminal cancer after a tumour in his lung spread to his brain.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the TV star revealed he was at the airport with his wife Jess and their three young sons and they were jetting off in search of sunshine.
The doting dad-of-three said he still has jaundice but that his doctor had OK’d his trip.
As he walked around the airport, Jonnie told his Instagram followers: ‘I woke up this morning feeling a bit better, I’m still slightly jaundiced but I’m about to jump on a flight to southern Spain.’
He went on: ‘I did clear it with my oncologist, he said “there are hospitals in Spain and you don’t play by the rules anyway”.’

Jonnie added: ‘But my thoughts are, that’s probably part of my success so far.
‘Fingers crossed my liver continues to get a bit better.’
He concluded: ‘Me and family, we wake up tomorrow to blue skies in southern Spain.’
Jonnie has been keeping his followers updated on his treatment and earlier this week confirmed he had been hospitalised with jaundice.
As explained by the NHS, jaundice is when your skin or the whites of your eyes turn yellow and it’s recommended anyone with such symptoms seek medical help as it can be a sign of something serious, like liver disease.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (November 13), the property expert shared a photo from his hospital bed as he lounged back with his feet up, watching himself on TV.

Jonnie’s caption read: ‘Back in hospital – been in since Friday with Jaundice. I had a fever and acute stabbing pain in my right hand side. Turns out I probably had an infection and otter issues which I won’t bore you with.
‘Been on drips, regular bloods taken and have observations every 4 ours through day and night.

‘Didn’t think I’d be watching @bbcmorninglive from a hospital bed but it’s just part of the roller coaster life that this illness throws at you.’
Hopefully, some lovely Spanish sunshine will do Jonnie wonders!
