Jonnie Irwin was glad he enjoyed some quality time with his family despite suffering with a chest infection as he lives with terminal cancer.
The 49-year-old A Place In The Sun presenter looked to have a wonderful day with his wife Jessica and their three boys – Rex, four, and twins Rafa and Cormac, three – based on some sweet photos in his latest Instagram post.
Although he admitted he should probably have kept himself indoors given his infection, Jonnie went pumpkin picking with his loved ones in time for Halloween, and teased his wife about her ‘obsession’ with the spooky season.
‘Probs should’ve stayed inside with my chest infection but would’ve got too much FOMO missing out on visiting uncle @maccaholmes allotment,’ he wrote.
‘Sometimes I need a push and seeing the lads enjoy picking some apples, and pumpkins was superb.
‘Unfortunately feeding @jessofjesmond obsession with Halloween is a downside! #allotment #homegrown #pumpkin #halloween #familytime #toon #greenfingers’

His followers have starting flooding the post with sweet messages amid both the chest infection and his terminal cancer, and people pointed to the way he’s treating his sons to ‘beautiful memories’ to last a lifetime.
‘Filling them with so many beautiful memories that nothing can ever take away xx,’ one person replied, while another commented: ‘Such precious time with your boys❤️’
Initially told he had lung cancer and six months to live, Jonnie defied the odds but publicly delivered the devastating news the disease had spread to his brain last November.

Since then, he revealed he has been determined to spend as much time as possible with family while he can, which has included jam-packed movie nights, a Jurassic Jungle adventure and more.
And last week, fans were left celebrating his latest career mood as he revealed he will be making a return to TV after filming various segments for BBC’s Morning Live.
Sharing a picture of himself smiling with a member of the camera crew in the background, he wrote in his caption: ‘So good to be back filming for @bbcmorninglive.

‘We’ve just shot to short films about renovating your home and what to look out for. I think my smug smile betrays the lack of a massive commute for once and the extra couple of hours I got in my scratcher as we filmed in Newcastle Upon Tyne.’
Jonnie added that he would let his followers know when his segments are due to come out, ‘when I know’.
