The Marvel star, who has been dropped by Disney and Marvel Studios after being found guilty in court, made the claims in an interview ahead of his sentencing.
The 34-year-old was charged with assault and aggravated harassment amid claims he attacked his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in March of this year.
His former partner sustained minor injuries to her head and neck, but the Creed III star denied all allegations made against him
‘I was reckless with her heart, not with her body,’ he has now insisted in a new interview with Good Morning America, adding ‘I was not the best boyfriend all the time but I never hit a woman, never hit a woman, my hands have never struck a woman ever.’
Asked if he thought he felt any responsibility for Jabbari’s injuries, he said he was responsible only in that he ‘shouldn’t have been in that relationship… I shouldn’t have been in the car,’ and he should have left the relationship earlier.
‘I’m responsible for that. But I can’t say that, none of her injuries.’

‘It’s been very hard and very difficult and confusing in many ways,’ he said of the court case and conviction.
‘Shock. I was absolutely shocked. And afraid,’ he said of hearing the court’s verdict.
He insisted it ‘did not happen’ that he hit Jabbari in the face, twisted Jabbari’s arm and fractured her middle finger. Asked how those injuries happened, he said ‘I wish to God I knew. That would give clarity, that would give me some type of peace about it.’
He said their ‘relationship was not healthy and that began to reveal itself over time.’

In December, Majors was found guilty of assault and aggravated harassment after a six-person jury announced a split verdict following around five hours of deliberations.
Majors was acquitted on one count of assault and another count of aggravated harassment.
He is due to return to court for sentencing on February 6, 2024, and faces up to one year behind bars.

The court case began at the end of November, and saw Jabbari’s legal team claim that Majors assaulted her in the backseat of a private car, after she reportedly attempted to grab his phone from him when she saw a romantic text sent by another woman.
They argued that he then grabbed the right side of her body and pried her finger off the phone in his bid to retrieve the device, which caused her bruising, swelling and substantial pain.
Jabbari sought treatment and explained to the officers that she had sustained her injuries from her now-ex.
She took to the stand during the court case and told the jurors that she curled her body away from Majors in a bid to ‘protect’ herself.
It was alleged that he twisted her arm behind her back – causing ‘excruciating pain’ – and hit her with an open hand.

Majors’ attorney argued that he was the victim and left bloodied by the encounter, while alleging that Jabbari went clubbing after the incident.
Following the verdict, a studio representative confirmed their decision to not move forward with Majors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Majors played Kang the Conqueror in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and starred in the current season of Disney+ series Loki.
He was also due to feature in several other upcoming MCU titles, including a fifth Avengers movie.
Following his guilty verdict, a lawyer said Majors ‘looks forward to fully clearing his name.’
