Johnny Depp has ditched Hollywood and is now enjoying a quiet life in Somerset.
The American actor might be one of the world’s biggest stars, but he’s now embraced living life far away from the fast lane.
After rumours emerged earlier this year that he had relocated to the United Kingdom, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has now revealed he has permanently set up in the West Country.
In 2014, he splashed £13million on a Downton Abbey-style estate, which boasts 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 850 acres.
He’s now posed for a photoshoot on his property for an interview, where he’s shared more about his surprising move.
‘I just love places with character. British people are cool and will greet you as if you are a neighbour — without going over the top,’ he said.

‘I like going to places, seeing things and meeting people — but I’m not the great extrovert that people think,’ he told Somerset Life magazine, as reported by the Daily Mail.
He added: ‘In truth, I’m quite a shy person. That’s one of the great things about Britain, and especially Somerset. I can just be me — and that’s nice.’
Depp also added that he could go into shops ‘without being surrounded by people wanting selfies’.
‘I don’t mind that up to a point, but sometimes it gets a little too crowded.’

When he purchased the property, Depp was newly-engaged to his now ex-wife Amber Heard, 36, who he was married to for two years before they divorced in 2017.
Before the move to his home, Depp had been staying with the late Jeff Beck in Sussex before his friend’s death last month aged 78.
A few weeks ago Depp was seen shopping for his Somerset abode, popping into an antiques centre in Lincolnshire.

But in a move that was anything but low-key, he chartered a helicopter to get there.
The antique centre’s owner, Robert Miller, said Depp ‘bought a lot of very quirky items’, including a desk chair, three guitars, paint sets, easels, a few pictures and posters.
