Jofra Archer: England bowler ruled out of Ashes series and T20 World Cup with chronic elbow injury
The i says England must be left wondering if Jofra Archer will ever play Test cricket again after receiving the devastating news that the fast bowler will miss the rest of the year with the chronic elbow injury that has been troubling him for the past 19 months.
Archer had an operation on his right elbow in May in the hope he would be fit at least for this winter’s T20 World Cup and, crucially, the Ashes series in Australia. The current Test series against India was always going to be a long shot for Archer to be involved in.
However, after feeling pain on his return to action with Sussex last month, the 26-year-old will now miss a huge winter.
