Joe Sugg waltzed his way to the Strictly Come Dancing final and while he lost out on the Glitterball trophy – he won the heart of partner Dianne Buswell – and admitted he still loves a dance with the show’s regular professional.
The 31-year-old YouTuber flexed muscles he didn’t know he had back in 2018 when he laced up his ballroom shoes and foxtrotted for BBC audiences for weeks on end.
Leaving the show behind him, he wasn’t quite ready to process a clean break and became the host of Strictly Come Dancing: The Official Podcast, keeping his toe in the pool for the foreseeable.
As well as voicing opinions with co-presenter Kim Winston, the star revealed that he found another way to keep the Strictly blues at bay.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Joe stifled a grin as he exposed his secret rendezvous point with his girlfriend Dianne, 34, while the cameras were turned off.
He said: ‘I’m quite lucky, so from being up here [in the podcast studio], when no one’s on the dance floor I do go on there and have a little dance about.’

Joe went on to explain he looks for his partner and asks her to join him: ‘I’d be like, “Do you wanna have a quick little dance?”’
‘I think last year me and Diane had a quick step on the dance floor just to sort of see, one – if I can remember it – and two – just to have a go again which is such a nice thing to be able to do because so many celebrities have that one go and then that’s it.
‘But every now and then I try and sneak on the dance floor and have a little go,’ he explained.
The internet sensation detailed the ins and outs of his romance with the professional Strictly dancer and admitted work never stays at the office for the pair.
He revealed they chat about the show at home and said: ‘It carries on, we still chat about the time, we still dance together in the kitchen when we can.

‘Every now and then I’ll just sort of go into ballroom hold for a laugh but thinking there’s no way because she’s probably absolutely shattered from dance all day, but she still will.
‘She will test me on my ballroom. I still like to put on a bit of a show when I can, light a few candles, set the mood, a bit of Viennese waltz round around the kitchen.
‘It’s not quite the set that they have here at Elstree but we make do, we make it work!’
Strictly Come Dancing: The Official Podcast by BBC Studios returns for a new series on September 16 – episodes will be available every Sunday from September 24 on BBC Sounds.
