Jill Biden chimed in to remind him he liked ice cream

US President Joe Biden stumbled in a recent interview when he was asked what he liked to eat. The 81-year-old needed reminding from First Lady Jill Biden that he liked ice cream.
Former American Idol host Ryan Seacrest asked: “I’m curious, what sorts of holiday foods have you been enjoying over the last few days?”
To which Biden replied: “Well, I’ve been eating everything that’s put in front of me. But I’ve eaten pasta, which I love. I’ve eaten a lot of chicken, chicken parmesan, I’ve been eating all Italian foods, basically.”
The first lady, who was sitting with Biden for the interview, cut in to remind her husband, “And ice cream.”

“And ice cream,” the president added. “Chocolate chip ice cream.”
The interaction was mocked on social media, with one viewer saying: “This is such a farce at this point, seriously??”
“All those hardball questions!” added another.
It’s no secret that Joe Biden loves ice cream.
He has been spotted in ice cream shops around the country, including grabbing a cone in Washington, DC, earlier this year.
“My name is Joe Biden, and I love ice cream,” said Biden at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in 2016 during his vice presidency.
Biden has been campaigning for a second term in the upcoming election.
He did not grant any known interviews to reporters during his nearly three-year presidency and has been facing concerns about his mental acuity.
If re-elected, Biden would be 86.

“My hope is that everybody has a healthy, happy, and safe new year,” Biden also told Seacrest in the interview, which was taped while he was on vacation in St. Croix. “But beyond that, I hope they understand that we’re in a better position than any country in the world to lead the world.”
Observers note that the First Lady often keeps him on message, with fewer impromptu Q&As when she’s present.
In his last solo press conference in November 2022, a front-row seat for the first lady was brought in last minute, and the president left after nine questions after he mistakenly said Russian troops were pulling out of the Iraqi city of “Fallujah” when he meant to say “Kherson” in southeastern Ukraine.
Amidst a surge in illegal immigration and an impeachment inquiry, Biden is anticipated to face former President Trump in the upcoming election, with Trump leading in polls despite pending criminal cases and economic concerns.
