Metro – JK Rowling and the Goblet of Ire
The Metro says JK Rowling has said she can never forgive the stars of Harry Potter who “cheered on” transgendering children. It comes after a landmark review found children accessing gender care services had been let down by a lack of research and medical interventions performed on the basis of “remarkably weak” evidence.
Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint have all publicly criticised Rowling’s comments on the issue. Responding to a fan on social media who suggested the stars might apologise “safe in the knowledge you will forgive them”, Rowling responded: “Not safe, I’m afraid”.
Elsewhere, the death of OJ Simpson makes the paper.
