Jeremy Renner has shared a heartfelt message from his nephew as he continues to recover from his serious snowplough accident earlier this year.
The Marvel actor, 52, shared the message on his Instagram story in which his nephew said he was ‘very lucky’ to have an Avenger for an uncle.
Renner was crushed by a six-tonne snowploughing machine near his Lake Tahoe home close to the Nevada-California state border in the US.
A police report obtained by the PA news agency revealed he had been trying to rescue a family member at the time of the incident.
He broke more than 30 bones in his body in the accident, and has since undergone two surgeries – one to place metal pins around his legs and another operation on his chest.
On Wednesday Renner posted a picture of the message, sent by his nephew Auggie.

‘I am very lucky because my uncle is Hawkeye (one of the Avengers). I am also very lucky because my uncle is alive from his accident,’ the note read.
‘Love my little man. Bless you Auggie,’ the actor captioned the photo.
In a second post he shared a photo of two cute stuffed toy sloths smiling at the camera, which he dubbed ‘my inside feelings’.

The Hurt Locker actor has kept fans updated with his recovery process so far, saying he would do ‘whatever it takes’ to get back to full strength last month as he shared a video of himself rebuilding his leg strength by using a special exercise bike.
Since the January 1 incident, he has reportedly been ‘moving himself around’ in a wheelchair according to his friend, Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly, who called his recovery so far a ‘straight up miracle’.
She told US outlet Access Hollywood: ‘I walked in his house and got chicken skin, because I was like, “Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?”

‘I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle, a straight-up miracle.
‘He’s made of something really tough, that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him. He is recovering incredibly, and I’m so grateful.’
